Welcome to the Metanoia Library
LEND & BORROW BOOKS FROM FRIENDS OF EREMOS
Our library does not yet have a physical home, but that does not prevent us from sharing knowledge, wisdom, and inspiration with one another. Below is a collection of selected books from the personal libraries of friends of Eremos, generously made available to the wider community. If you would like to borrow a book, or make a book from your collection available for others to borrow, please get in touch at welcometoeremos@gmail.com.
If you'd like to support the library by donating books or Bibles to its permanent collection, scroll to the bottom of this page to find out how you can help and read about the Metanoia Library's aspiration to build the world's largest public collection of beautiful contemporary Bible editions.
Check out the 'New to the Bible?' section on our Bible Studies page for answers to common questions about Bible translations and choosing your first Bible.
met-uh-noy-uh
a Greek word meaning a fundamental ‘change of mind’ or ‘afterthought’. Derived from meta (after/beyond) and noeo (to think/perceive), it signifies a radical transformation of perspective, attitude, and purpose. In the Bible, it involves repentance and turning your heart towards God.

Ways to Help Bring the Vision to Life
While Eremos is searching for its first permanent home in London, UK, we are already growing the Metanoia Library collection in anticipation of the day it can open its doors to the public. We warmly welcome donations of Bibles and books that reflect the values of Eremos.
To make supporting the library easy, we've created an Amazon Wish List of titles we'd love to include in the collection. By purchasing an item from the list – or from another retailer if you prefer – you're helping us build a library for a community rooted in the belief that art, creativity, and beauty bring people closer to God.
Every donated book or Bible will include the donor's name on the opening page, creating a lasting record of the contribution that helped grow the Metanoia Library and bring the vision of Eremos to life.
Building the World’s Largest Public Collection of Beautiful Contemporary Bible Editions
In addition to housing a collection of books on theology, Christianity, art, and related subjects, the Metanoia Library aspires to build the world's largest public collection of beautiful contemporary Bible editions – a hands-on library designed to help visitors browse, compare, and explore different editions in person before choosing the Bible that's right for them. Selecting a Bible is a deeply personal and surprisingly tactile experience, and we hope to make that journey easier, more meaningful, and more enjoyable for first-time readers and seasoned Bible lovers alike.
The Bibles in this collection will be for reference only and will remain in the library. However, visitors will be warmly invited to highlight passages that are meaningful to them and leave notes in the margins for future readers, allowing each Bible to become a shared record of reflection, encouragement, and faith – a living testimony to the way the Word of God unites people across generations.
